#ThrowBackThursday - Meguiar's Club Showcase Winner 2011
Each year at the NEC Classic Motorshow, Meguiar’s hold a Club Showcase event which brings together the finest vehicles from 16 major marque specific events that Meguiar’s support throughout the year. This is a contest to find the very best vehicle amongst the champions.
For the 2011 event Meguiar’s awarded a fabulous 1966 Austin Healey 3000 overall Club Showcase Winner. This car also won, The Austin Healey Clubs Donald Healey Trophy at the club event earlier in the year. The owner, Bill Donaldson rescued the car in 2007 and was sold to Bill as a wreck. Bill’s vision was to return the car to a concours winning standard and he spent the next three and a half years restoring the car himself, including converting the car to right hand drive along the way
‘I owned one of these in the ’60s’. ‘I sold the car to buy a house, but by the time i could afford another they stopped making them’ said Bill. To restore this Healey was an opportunity he simply couldn’t miss!
This year Meguiar’s return with another Club Showcase event. Make sure you don’t miss it at this years NEC Classic Motorshow.
