This weekend saw The Wheel Specialist Fareham celebrate 10 years in the business as one of the finest wheel refinishers in the country. A huge variety of cars turned up to join in the festivities, many of them customers of TWS Fareham, so the standard of wheels was super high.

On the day Meguiar’s awarded a Mirror Bright Kit bag to both the best wheels on the day and also the winner of the SlamSanctuary photo competition. A tough decision on the day, but in the end Sean Crompton took the prize for best wheels after equipping his BMW E36 vert with classic Carline rolling stock. A worthy winner and Sean only finished putting the car back together the evening before and set the alignment the morning of the meeting!

It seems that the BMW following on the south coast is very strong and there were a number of really high quality builds in attendance. Doey’s stunning E21 was in attendance, wearing CCW split rims, like Sean he’s opted for a fully polished finish.

You’d be forgiven for thinking Fareham was California as these were not the only fully polished wheels at the meet. Carlos’ E36 was wearing a fellow BMW nut’s stepped up RS’ also in the hard to maintain raw finish. I guess attending an event at a wheel specialist we should have expected it, but there really were a lot of uncommon and dare we say rare wheels dotted around the car park. Making the Carline type wheel look almost common, there was a second BMW repping the brand.

Potentially the rarest wheel on display however has to go to Joseph Cummins with his slammed 7 series. This car wears 20″ Alpina wheels found on the Z8 Alpina variant. Think for a second how often you see a Z8… then think how often you see an Alpina Z8…

Talking of Alpina’s, it’s hard to miss Ryan’s Alpina B10. Fresh from a supercharger install at Regal Autosport, TWS also built the 18″ BBS RF for the event. Originally an OE 17″ BMW E36 Design 5000 wheel, these ‘RF’ have been stepped up to 18″ and measure 10 inches wide all round.

It wasn’t all BMW in attendance though, as the sun began to shine in the afternoon several Italian exotics showed up.

What sets the TWS Fareham team apart however is perhaps how involved their own staff are in the modified community. This ‘914-8’ is a Chevy small block converted 914 owned by Tim who himself works at TWS Fareham.

Talking of Porsches, Chris Stewart’s rowdy 911 GT3 howled into the car park having just had a triple CSF radiators overhaul. You could just about see the centre unit poking out through the mesh.

In all we must have counted about 100 or so cars coming and going throughout the day with plenty of cars we had never seen before, giving a fresh feel amongst the familiar faces. Check out the gallery below to get a feel for the day:
